What is the most controversial thing you’ve ever written on your blog? What compelled you to write it?
Well this will be a short post! I don’t think I’ve ever written anything controversial! How dull is that? It’s not that I am afraid to, it’s just not in my nature. In times of argument, I usually clam up and walk away. I’m just not into the whole “my idea/feelings/opinions/etc. are better than yours so I will argue until I win”. I have my beliefs, I share them but if I see that I’m not in a like-minded group then I don’t push. I come from a loud opinionated family and have had my share of participation in “discussions”. I just don’t participate anymore. I choose to sit back and be a silent observer. It can be quite interesting sometimes!
So, just for the sake of NaBloPoMo, I’ll use my post “Really???” as my most controversial one. The original title was “Some People Are So Obtuse” and after I thought about it, I figured maybe I had been too harsh. So I changed it. Talk about not wanting to ruffle any feathers! Which is silly really because the situation described and my reaction to it was exactly that. MY reaction.
What compelled me to write this “controversial” post? I was just so flabbergasted by the stubbornness I had witness that, as soon as I could, I ran upstairs and shared. I just couldn’t help myself. I just put it out there with nary another thought.
Maybe I did it to see if I was alone in my thinking. OR maybe I was searching for validation?
I dunno!
Moot, right? It’s water under the bridge. Why go backwards when there’s so much opportunity in front of us? 🙂

The obtuse are irritating, irrational, and more interesting in stating their opinions or protecting their turf/ideas over listening in order to have a sensible discussion or determining a meaningful solution. Although religion and politics are two regular topics that fit into this realm, actually any and all topics qualify.
Over at my blog, I state my opinions, but I do it in a respectful way … and long-time readers understand my context because they see a consistency from me. Besides, I have an important line that I save for times that are absolutely necessary …. We may disagree, but that doesn’t mean I’m wrong.

This is true… though not always more interesting – many times (from experience) more annoying with no “off” switch!
I like your important line (may have to use it in the future!)
