Now that I can breathe again (bloody cold knocked me out for a couple of days!) I worked my tail off cooking all day. Had to wait patiently for my son to come home from work so we could watch the much anticipated 2nd half season premiere (Really? Must we have two season premieres per year? It’s like taking the last book of a series and making two movies out of it! Or taking one less-than-four-hundred-page book and making THREE movies out of it!) Sorry, I digress. Must be feeling better than I thought!
Had trouble deciding on which picture to take for this post and found this one that I had not shared anywhere. I love how there is a rainbow around the sun…
Gratitude List
- Neighbours are great when you are feeling like crap. They go to the store for you and pick up meds so you can sleep at night. Thank you Julie & Robert!
- Thankfully I don’t have an official job to go to so I was able to rest and rest and rest to get better that much faster.
- Got another order for a catering job for Tuesday. Woot!
- Though I had been dreading it, I finally started the official Estate paperwork with the bank.
- Had dinner with an old friend from way back and set up a get-together with another friend for this coming week. Some of us have decided to try and connect on a face-to-face basis rather than just through Facebook or blogging. It will be a most enriching experience methinks!
Glad you are feeling better! That photo is remarkable – we’ve seen similar ‘almost-rainbow’ formations in the sky that have not occurred before. The colors in your photo are similar to the strange daytime formations we’ve seen – they are on the edge of clouds, not near the sun.

Thanks! It’s always a joy to discover something in your photo that you didn’t originally see! It just looked like a weak sun trying to peek through the clouds.

Glad you’re on the mend from the energy sapping cold. Be sure not to overdo things too soon. Always the temptation.

Bummer on the cold … cheers to you continuing to connect … What’s on the catering gig’s menu? Oh .. an idea … how you ever visited my Food category? 15 posts there … https://afrankangle.wordpress.com/category/food/ …. and you can feel free to use the AFA Deluxe for catering events. Interested in Cranberry-Sausage Spaghetti? How about Argentine Chili? … Oh … and then’s there’s limoncello for some spirit. …

Yep… think I finally nipped it in the bud! Lemme see, there will be beet & barley salad, potato-smoked salmon salad, roasted veggie & hummus wraps, Mexican chicken wraps (both put on the Panini grill), veggie platter, caramelized onion tarts and finished off with brownies and blondies.
I see I will definitely have to have me a sit-down to read your whole food section! I saw that Iron Chef episode (3-4 times) but never thought to try the Cranberry Sausage Spaghetti. Going to try it for sure now! And I make limoncello too (of course, I do – but not like you do…)

Sounds wonderful. The Mexican chicken wraps then straight to the brownies & blondies for me (as I sneak in some port).

😀 Don’t think the biz folks will be lucky enough to get port with their dessert!

Thus way I will retreat to the backroom where I hid the port. Reminder … little quadrants of AFA Deluxe should be a big hit.

It’s hell not being able to talk but am glad you’re recovering. At least with blogging, you can still express yourself in words, even when your vocal cords aren’t up to the task. I love that photo.

Thanks, Bruce. Enough to go out in that atrocious weather this morning with Zeke. Then I had to go shopping for my job tomorrow… Brrrrr!

Here’s to good neighbours and reconnecting with friends (though I have to say my neighbours wouldn’t be looking after me if I was ill!!) That’s a gorgeous photo Dale, love it.
