“That is a seriously strange sculpture, eh, Doris?”

“Indeed, Hank.  Do you think it’s supposed to represent a real creature that once was?”

“Well, it doesn’t look like any dinosaur I’ve ever seen in museums or books!”

“I don’t know why, but it kinda gives me that ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ vibe.”

“Well, whatever it is or is supposed to represent, it gives me the heebie jeebies, Doris!”

“Excuse me”, came a silky voice; “May I help you? You seem to have wandered into my Nightmare and must pay…”

Fear coursed through their veins as they were engulfed in a cloud.

  1. Yup, I loved the twist, too. And what a scary idea, to walk into someone’s nightmare and having to pay… Great story, well worth the wait. 🙂

  2. It does have the Nightmare Before Christmas vibe! Indeed, it does. I knew there was something about this sculpture I was missing. I would be freaked out if this thing came to life and started talking with a silky voice. Great story!
