Last day of May already? Jeez Louise time does fly! Time to take a deep breath and begin a new month. What will it bring? Feeling quite optimistic…
Every time I walk Zeke past Roxanne’s house (we often met each other whilst walking our dogs), I look to see if there is any movement. You see, she was finally pregnant with twins, after many attempts, the last time I saw her in the fall. She could no longer walk her beast, Porthos (Bouvier des Flandes), for fear he would inadvertently knock her over. I kept hoping to see signs from her, wondering when she had her babies, if they were healthy, if all was good. You see, we are merely walking buddies, not telephones exchanged buddies! I never dared knocked on her door (mostly because I wasn’t positive it was her house!!!)
Well, on Tuesday, as we approached, her door flung open and in her arms was Logan! She beckoned me over and in so I could also meet Laurent. Two beautiful boys that she had at 28 weeks on September 1st, 2014, and yes, it was not an easy time. They spent their first three months in the hospital and there are still some issues but now they are home and beautiful.
Gratitude List
-
To go along with the above, I am beyond happy for Roxanne and Kevin and their little bundles of joy.
-
I was thrilled that Roxanne was as happy to see me as I, her.
-
Happy my neighbour Robert came to help with the pool. There were issues I had no idea what to do with and he came in, knowing Mick’s “handyman” tricks and helped clear up a few things.
-
Isabelle was in town for a few days and was able to meet me for breakfast. Now that she lives two hours away, our visits are fewer but always welcome!
-
I am happy Hélène was happy with my teapot cake and cupcakes (which I stupidly forgot to take pictures of as I was too busy catching up with her hubby, Guy (my old boss) and visiting their gorgeous home. She is supposed to send me some pics tomorrow, so ya’all are just gonna have to wait!

Reading about your cake and cupcakes reminded me that I had my first-ever cakepop this weekend. They are awesome!
Hooray for reconnecting with Roxanne … and yes, extra special that she came out to greet you.
I know … I know … I’m #6 in this list. 😉 … Maybe learning how to twirl your tassels will make next week’s list. … Good morning, Dale.

Bummer about the tassel twirling won’t be on a future gratitude list. Somehow I only had one of the cakepops. Well, I fought the urge in order to leave the remaining for others. Cheers to your morning!

They are very cute, and I’m glad all is well with your ‘dog-walking-friend’ who seems to develop into more than that. 🙂

I bet, with twins. I don’t have kids, but I’ve seen enough with friends who also had twins.

Are they not? I just got confirmation that Laurent’s heart surgery went well last Wednesday and he is already home. Logan has been shipped off to his grand-mother’s though, as he has a cold and must not contaminate his brother…

Oh I understand that. Our oldest boy had open heart surgery when he was four. Have to be oh so careful. Very happy that surgery went well.

My first-born had open-heart surgery at 10 days old… and then some so, I, too, totally understand…
Jeez, Paul, every time we “chat” I discover more in common with you!

Awww so sweet. I bet Roxanne is grateful for any adult interaction and what a bonus – she’s got a spare baby for you to cuddle 😘

Two beautiful little miracles. I’m glad they are healthy… 28 weeks is dicey territory so I’m glad they are doing well. Happy you had a nice week.

Indeed! I am beyond happy for the young couple. They have a few issues but should be able to live normal lives.

Thanks, Kay! I actually write 5 gratitudes every night before bed – have been doing it for 3 or so years (some days just having my coffee prepared in the morning qualifies!)

I have been trying to make more face-to-face connections and creating, yes, possibilities (thanks for that) for good things. I’m touched I inspire you. Thank you for that.
