Advent Calendar Day 2

In the spirit of Christmas and the Advent Calendar that has been revamped and re-purposed in myriad ways, I have decided to do one of another sort.  Instead of taking one chocolate per day (or wine or whatever goodie is in vogue) or adding one item into a box to donate for a good cause (a very good thing, indeed) I have chosen to send a little love to my favourite blogs.

What to say about Frank?  I’ll start off by saying that I “met” him through Raye and am ever thankful.  I love how “circles” or “groups” form, like little villages and satellites in this blogosphere.   He has introduced me to many wonderful bloggers.

However, what touches me most about this wonderful fella from Cincinnati is when I was going through a most difficult time, he noticed I had been absent from the blogosphere and he actually sent me an email to see if all was well.  I will forever hold a soft spot in my heart for his kindness.

Now, onto less mushy stuff!  This guy is the King of creating interaction between people from all over the world.  It is truly wonderful.  He invites us to participate in his various musicals or writing challenges and that has created extra links between his readers.  We have a blast commenting on each other’s submissions that go on for “miles” in threads.  So. Much. Fun.

And in between said challenges, he shares his insightful thoughts during his beach walks, his love of dance and music, takes on his bus tours and keeps us informed on what’s going on.

The world is a better place with him in it!

  1. Delightful, Dale, he sounds like a wonderful person. And lately I have come to love the beautiful Louis Armstrong song. In 1967 I was as green as grass – now I get the lyrics! Keep up the good work with your advent calendar, it’s a great idea.

    I’m touched and simply thank you. I even teared up just little as I read this. As you know, I’m a firm believer that the majority of the people are good, and blogging has helped affirming that to me – and I’m grateful for having you in the circle huddling in my little corner of the world.

  7. Wow! Dale this is a wonderful post. I also think these things about Frank. I especially enjoy the way he brings us all together with his musicals.

  8. Save the last dance for one of your biggest admirers…albeit of late…silent one. Dale tells it like it is! You THE man!! Just so you know….(speaking for Dale) we’ve got our high-heeled sneakers on…just waiting for the band to play our favourite tunes. You know the ones..!

  10. An excellent choice for Day #2, Dale. I would have been surprised if he didn’t appear among your choices.
    His blog is always uplifting. We share a love of dance (Me: former dancer), music, cruising and the beach. Well … I just noticed how much we have in common. : )
    HIs blog post with the musicals are my favorite for as you said the banter among all is like visiting friends in a living room for an evening of wine and conversation. Oh … I just released – we enjoy a good glass of wine too. Everyone needs to pop over to see the blog ‘A Frank Angle’.

  16. I agree with everything you wrote about Frank, especially the part about how the world is much better place with him in it. I love the community he has nurtured and nudged along over the years. And you’re right about the fun. I love his musicals and those Onion headline pairings that happen in the comments can be hysterical.
