In the spirit of Christmas and the Advent Calendar that has been revamped and re-purposed in myriad ways, I have decided to do one of another sort. Instead of taking one chocolate per day (or wine or whatever goodie is in vogue) or adding one item into a box to donate for a good cause (a very good thing, indeed) I have chosen to send a little love to my favourite blogs.
Day 14 – The Last Tambourine
Sawsan is relatively new to me in this blogosphere but she quickly made an impact on me. I discovered this lovely lady through David Kanigan’s blog. Her comments, already thought-provoking and enlightening, are often accompanied by quotes or sections of texts. She always knows exactly what to say or to add to an already brilliant post. For a while we just exchanged over at DK’s and then I decided to follow her. What a great idea I had.
Poetry and prose, music and lovely shares of all sorts are what greeted me when I signed up.
And to think we were this close to meeting when she came up to my neck of the woods for her mother. We were even in the same hospital at the same time without knowing it! Ah well. Next time, Sawsan! Maybe here. Maybe in Chicago!
Just returned from the blog that is new to me. What a beautiful poem. Thanks for the reference.

Chicago is such a beautiful city that I definitely want to return to… and now, well, hell, I don’t imagine I would tour it alone 🙂

I think so too, John. She doesn’t write that often but when she does, it’s always good.

I, too, am a big Sawsan fan, Dale! I always look forward to reading her comments on DK’s blog–trenchant, often funny, always on point. Loving this sharing you’re doing. Truly a holiday gift that keeps on giving! Hugs, Lori

Thank you, Lori! I feel the same about your comments, too, by the way… gonna have to make my way over to yours, too!
Hugs, right back.

Awww, what a lovely thing to say, Dale. I’m afraid I fell off the blogging wagon a few years back and have never managed to haul my butt back on. But with the new environs and. Ew adventures that the pups and I are having, I may have to do a reprise!

Dear Dale,
Another person I knew nothing about. Isn’t it amazing how small the internet has made the world? Oh I know the negatives but there are plenty of positives. Thank you for adding richness to the month.
Shalom,
Rochelle

Such beautiful writing in this blogger’s pieces and wonderful poetry. All new to me. I particularly liked the concept of not asking a visitor who he is for three days. What a world that would be. And not pretending busyness for the sake of our own ego. And as a devotee of the pared-down version of a song, “Crazy” was the royal icing on a more-ish slice of delicious cake. Just lovely. Dale, thank you for the introduction.

I loved that post. Could you imagine? Not judging a person for three days?
Yes, yes, and yes to the rest of your comment.
She actually had the nerve to email me to tell me that she didn’t belong on my Advent Calendar! Puh-leeze. 🙂

I still can’t get over that night. I can’t!
Thank you, Dale! I don’t belong here but somehow you found a spot for me. I wasn’t expecting this. Mostly, I’m thankful for this world bringing us together ❤

That was nuts. You can’t make this stuff up.
Yes, you do belong here. Everyone “nominated” touches me in some way or another. I see an email in my inbox from you and I immediately want to go see what you’ve read.

Dale, you continue to make the blogging world more warm and intimate. Imagine being only five floors away from Sawsan in “real life”. Her blog is lovely.

Thank you, Ina. My little part in sharing the love. When I wrote that I had spent the wee hours of the morning in a hospital, she texted me (we did want to meet, if it were possible) with a “I’m afraid to ask which hospital”…
Her blog is very lovely indeed.
