Advent Calendar – Day 16

In the spirit of Christmas and the Advent Calendar that has been revamped and re-purposed in myriad ways, I have decided to do one of another sort.  Instead of taking one chocolate per day (or wine or whatever goodie is in vogue) or adding one item into a box to donate for a good cause (a very good thing, indeed) I have chosen to send a little love to my favourite blogs.

Day 16 – Mrs. Completely

I can’t for the life of me remember how I met Lori.  Oh wait.  I think, once upon a time, she wrote stories for Friday Fictioneers… Yeah. That was it.  Mind you, she doesn’t participate that often and her posts about her life with her Viking are way more entertaining.  Without being limited to one hundred word restrictions, she can let ‘er rip in way more and that is a good thing.

Her sense of humour is sky-high and we’ve discovered, between chats on our blogs and Facebook that our birthdays are a mere 11 days apart, same year, and that she really is a sister from another mister – though her potty mouth is way more developed than mine.  Or rather, she’s not a hypocrite and let’s her true, snarky self shine through.  And I respect that.  Plus she makes me laugh out loud, if not snort.  And she’s not all snark and smart-assedness; she’s got a heart of gold.  But don’t tell her that.  It’ll ruin her image.  And her Viking is a saint to sit idly by as she uses him as her muse.

Luv ya, Sista!

  1. Ha Ha WHAT a SMALL world this is; I met you both on maybe the same blog of the few I try to follow…. And Lori is, together with you – of course – and our dear friend David, quickly becoming a ‘must read’ !!!! Oh the joy.
Sorry for having your advent calendar neglected so far – I am constantly movinbg between F and CH, try to be a helpful, good, cheerful partner to Hero Husband, have written something like 0 Xmas cards (OK, maybe 7 – 10 of around 150 I usually do, individually, nothing copied, all to the very person I address – so THAT takes time, energy, love and more time ((I just haven’t got it)) but still, I WANT to do it) – therefore everything and everybody else has to wait.
This is such a great idea – and I shall quickly scroll through some of them posts to see how many of the peeps I know are gathered. I already know one of them will be featured!!!!
Love and HAPPY 3RD ADVENT SUNDAY. Back to mugs of Christmas tea, glasses of red wine, Xmas baking I’ve collected from friends worried I might fall apart (sorry, that’s downright lying, I could survive a war with my fat reserves…. – but not with my physical & psychic mindset, I hate all forms of cruelties to the point that you could kill me with a threat), with my many strings of lights and kitschy but beautiful decorations, the flowers and music – and of course some books by the side (which also ‘help’ me NOT to do my card-writing)….. Love you (and Lori)

    • Oh Kiki!

You kill me! I find the blogosphere is a wonderful place and there are circles happening all over and it’s great. I am always surprised and amused to find people I follow also follow each other – which is fantabulous.
As for the Christmas cards, I amazingly sent out about 6 of them. Looking at my box, wondering if I will send more and to whom I might, should I decide to.
Don’t worry about my calendar follows. I am just doing this for my own pleasure. I felt that sharing the ones I love would be fun. And it’s turning out to be heartwarming and I get as much out of the pleasure they tell me they get at “making it”.
Lotsa love to you, Kiki and your HH and whomever else in your circle you hold dear!

  2. What a fun blogger — great sense of humor, as you say! I was sucked in by that cool photo of the sand-creatures.

I am obviously not doing advent posts myself (or barely any posts at all), but I *am* eating one piece of chocolate per day, so I feel like I’m contributing to the holiday spirit. Well, more like 3 or 4 pieces. And yeah, that’s the same chocolate I eat every evening in my little happy place reading nook. But hey, close enough! 🙂

    • How cool is that?
I wanted to just send some love (and, it was not easy to bring it down to 24 and I shall probably have a Christmas Day special naming a few others I like because I was limited!)
Now… to figure out why your damn blog won’t notify me…
