In the spirit of Christmas and the Advent Calendar that has been revamped and re-purposed in myriad ways, I have decided to do one of another sort. Instead of taking one chocolate per day (or wine or whatever goodie is in vogue) or adding one item into a box to donate for a good cause (a very good thing, indeed) I have chosen to send a little love to my favourite blogs.
Day 18 – Roughwighting
Pamela Wight is a wonderful storyteller – she does, after all, teach creative writing. Not even gonna bother trying to figure out how she came to my in-box – because, really, how important is it, anyhow? The fact is, she is here and I enjoy each and every post.
When she is not sharing some slice of life or writing process or event, she gives us “chapters” in an on-going story. Leaves us hanging and then challenges us to figure out the next part, winner getting a copy of her ebook. Fun stuff! It is fascinating to read allllll the comments and thoughts and ideas on what’s next – her readers have quite the imagination, lemme just say. We didn’t have to wait too long for the next chapter to show up and let us know who the winner(s) was (were). (No, wasn’t me.)
Her latest two-parter was most enjoyable as well. I loved where she took it.
I have noticed that more than a few peeps I follow also follow her – good sign, no? Seeing Roughwighting in my in-box means I shall be treated to a wonderfully written story of some kind – another with published books to look into. Bloody hell my list is ever expanding!
I follow Pam, as well, and I agree with all your thoughts about her. Plus she used to live in my area of NJ. 🙂

As somebody currently seriously muddling through the middle (tomorrow will be a better day than yesterday) I really like this lady’s blog. Amazingly prolific too, Impressive. It has inspired me to stop looking at yesterdays walls and start looking through tomorrow’s windows. That way more writing lies and I can say that with confidence because I just wrote the last two sentences in my diary. Bit corny bue true. The other saying I found today is something like “we build from the bricks other people chuck at us.” I’m building! Dale, thank you for a post that cheered me up.

I think a lot of us muddle through the middle. I am so very happy you connected with what she writes. You write so well and if read more than a 100-word story by you 😉
And I love that! “We build from bricks thrown at us”. How accurate!!
Happy, happy I, through Pam, cheered you up!!

Thanks so much! I think there’s power in the muddle – particularly when we all muddle together. ❤

Dear Dale,
My goodness, you seem to know everyone on the internet! So many stories, so little time. I will have to check Pam out. Thank you for another lovely intro.
Shalom and hugs, my friend,

Dear Rochelle,
Yanno… I am coming to realise that I do have quite a few connections that I’ve made over the years (Imagine, some of them have disappeared, otherwise they’d be listed too!). I think you would enjoy her writing.
Lotsa love and happy reading,
Dale

I am beyond honored and thrilled to be in your Advent Calendar, Dale. Not sure if my blog is better than chocolate… but I try to come close. 🙂 xo

The way I see it, every single one of you brings something to me that I enjoy and I just wanted to let you know… as well as anyone who happens to stop by my little corner of the blogosphere.
Chocolate is great and all… 🙂

That is super wonderful. My original goal for this Advent thing is to spread the love. And if they get new subscribers, then, that is just cherry on the sundae! Glad you are enjoying, Na’ama!
