Weekend Writing Prompt #90 – Furrowed

A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend.  How you use the prompt is up to you.  Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like.  Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise.  If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in the comments.

Word Prompt

Furrowed

Challenge

So, here’s a little “quickie” before I go out into the Siberian-level cold of Montreal.  Because I love these challenges, especially when the word count is so low!  Thank you, always, to Sammi for hosting this!

We sit across from each other

Your brow is furrowed, your lips are set

I see the confusion in your eyes

Because you know not where I’m coming from

It’s not your fault, it just is

I don’t love you

  1. Dear Dale,

Once again, you use one of your lovely photos. 😉 You wrote an entire story in 40 words. So much layered between the brief lines. I’m sending warm hugs your way. Well mine will keep your waist warm. ❤

    Shalom,

  2. Well, that should’a broken any ice …. 😉 Well done! Have fun in the arctic … some of it is heading our way for tomorrow night, me hear. I’m not particularly keen on -15C but that’s what we’re set to be getting (before the windchill factor…).

  3. Q,

Furrow is another favorite word and put to such heartrending use here!

Alas, there is but twilight for the stars that do not settle us. But the twilight is still something to shine on, so there’s that. And besides, there is always the star that you will find, after which all the rest will seem a lesson that became worth the learning.

Love that pic too! It looks so familiar!
