Welcome to Wednesday, my friends! It is time for another edition of Friday Fictioneers, brought to us by the wonderful Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. This week, we have the pleasure of using her hubby Jan Fields‘ photo. Should you want to add your own 100-word story, just click on the blue frog below. G’head, let’s see what this one does for you!
I Can Do It Myself
“Holy Hannah, Holly! What happened?”
“Nothing,” she growled through gritted teeth. “Just a little hiccup, is all.”
“Hiccup? Sure ’bout that? Looks more like a hurricane hit!”
“Shut up. Everything was going up just fine and then I dunno what happened. The whole thing collapsed.”
Henry tried to keep a straight face. “Any chance something is upside down?”
“Probably! Everything looks upside down, now!”
“Say the word, and I’m all yours, your Handyman Extraordinaire.”
“I just wanted to do it myself, yanno? Show I’m capable.”
Henry hugged her. “You’re more than capable. But you don’t have to do it alone.”
Takes a while to learn this one, especially as a young person. Easier, I think, to ask for help when you’re older. Then, of course, you become really old, stubborn and won’t accept help from anyone! Sweetly told tale, Dale
