Weekend Writing Prompt #121 – Teapot

I started writing a story about my late friend Roxanne, only to realise I have done so three times. Methinks that has been taken care of, don’t you? So then I remembered another teapot story 😉 Thanks for this prompt, Sammi!

A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend.  How you use the prompt is up to you.  Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like.  Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise.  If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in the comments.

Word Prompt

Teapot

“We’re having a teatime-theme bridal shower for Fhum and want you to make the cake and cupcakes.”

“I’d love to!”

“Can you make the cake in the shape of a teapot?”

“Absolutely!”

(Am I crazy?)

“That will be so cool! She’s gonna love it.”

“I sure hope so…”

And I thank you, considering I charge for them, I guess they are professional grade 😉

          • OOOhhhh, she’s gonna get crackin for some kraken after all! 😉
(The good thing is, no one REALLY knows what a Kraken looks like, which is why if I’d ever tried to make a cake like that, I’d claim it was a Kraken and no one could prove me wrong … ;)).
As for the professional part — I know you did this professionally. 🙂 Still impressive, because not all professionals are TALENTED.
            You is.

          • Ya baby!
I probably would use the Pirates of the Caribbean version 😉
Did – past tense… but I do thank you. I have had some that I was really proud of. Other? Not so much!

    • Thank you, Violet! I was pretty pleased with them, I cannot lie!
I’ve been making theme cakes for about 25 years now.
And I did the caterer thing so, not just a baker 😉

Writer. Photographer. Chef. Toxicologist. What exactly DON’T you do? Jesus, I feel like a slacker in comparison!

The pics almost make me forget the forty eight words, which I would be remiss in not mentioning. It was yummy. As in chocolate cake yummy. With frosting yummy. And the perfect lead in/partner in poetic crime to that ensemble of tummy tantalizers that look totally Boss.

    I bow to you.

    Marco

  2. I can’t believe my eyes…. you really did that? YOU? All on your own? How on earth?! I’m seriously amazed.

And shove over your link to YT – I’ve got to see that…. mind you, this woman here has won a first prize for a creation she just so…. (seriously!) tapped into her typewriter, she made not even a copy or carbon copy. And won! A Pretzel iron of THE Swiss brand…. I often wondered where that article went by the time I divorced. It couldn’t have been used by my then future ex….
    Bravo girl!
