I started writing a story about my late friend Roxanne, only to realise I have done so three times. Methinks that has been taken care of, don’t you? So then I remembered another teapot story 😉 Thanks for this prompt, Sammi!
A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend. How you use the prompt is up to you. Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in the comments.
Word Prompt
Teapot
“We’re having a teatime-theme bridal shower for Fhum and want you to make the cake and cupcakes.”
“I’d love to!”
“Can you make the cake in the shape of a teapot?”
“Absolutely!”
(Am I crazy?)
“That will be so cool! She’s gonna love it.”
“I sure hope so…”
Wow! Dale–that’s amazing! You are very talented. (And even better that it’s chocolate.) 🙂

Can you make a kraken next? 😉 Just because …

Yes ma’am, I did!
Pretty cool, eh? I actually did a second one a few years later – maybe shoulda included that one too 😉
I would be dumb enough to say yes… Just because…

Well, no kraken cake for me, eh? Oh well.
That teapot one, though! That’s PROFESSIONAL grade, that!

Why not? I would be crazy enough to try…
And I added the second teapot to my gallery if’n ya wanna take a gander…
And I thank you, considering I charge for them, I guess they are professional grade 😉

OOOhhhh, she’s gonna get crackin for some kraken after all! 😉
(The good thing is, no one REALLY knows what a Kraken looks like, which is why if I’d ever tried to make a cake like that, I’d claim it was a Kraken and no one could prove me wrong … ;)).
As for the professional part — I know you did this professionally. 🙂 Still impressive, because not all professionals are TALENTED.
You is.

Q,
THAT. Is insane! Cake Boss, move the hell over because you gots company!
Writer. Photographer. Chef. Toxicologist. What exactly DON’T you do? Jesus, I feel like a slacker in comparison!
The pics almost make me forget the forty eight words, which I would be remiss in not mentioning. It was yummy. As in chocolate cake yummy. With frosting yummy. And the perfect lead in/partner in poetic crime to that ensemble of tummy tantalizers that look totally Boss.
I bow to you.
Marco
PS- you got me all verklempt, I forgot the B!

B-Marco,
I must admit that I am ridiculously pleased with these…
Toxicologist? That’s a new one! Yeah, there are LOTS of things I don’t do. Trust me. What can I say? I like to dabble 😉
It was just a silly little bit of wording – all set up to show off. Which I don’t normally do but hey, if the pot fits…
I curtsy in return.
Q-the Verklemptor!

They look sensational! All that AND tasty too!
It was a play on words. You know how a bartender is called a mixologist. Welp, what would I call a mixologist who has to deal with toxic peeps at the same time . . . hey!
The pot had icing on it.
Nah, I still dig the Notorious Q. 😉

Thank you, kindly!
Yanno, I figured that was what you were doing – just needed clarification.
Hah! That it did!
I dig, I dig…😊

The toxicology report says you made drinks for the entire bar whilst keeping certain peeps shit in check at the same time.
You dig, I dig, we all dig. 🙂

I wonder how good I am at this new “trade”…
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oh, it ain’t new. The term mayhaps, but not the ‘trade’. As it pertains to, among others, anyone who works in the service industry and must deal with cranky customers and pain in the ass bosses whilst keeping it all humming.

I was looking for something a little more palatable than toxicologist. LOL

Yeah… that kinda had toxic and poison and I was not particularly fond of it, even if I agreed earlier… now that you have redefined it, I’m digging it more.

Mind you, the toxicologist isn’t the toxic one; they only deal with the toxic peeps. . .

I can’t believe my eyes…. you really did that? YOU? All on your own? How on earth?! I’m seriously amazed.
And shove over your link to YT – I’ve got to see that…. mind you, this woman here has won a first prize for a creation she just so…. (seriously!) tapped into her typewriter, she made not even a copy or carbon copy. And won! A Pretzel iron of THE Swiss brand…. I often wondered where that article went by the time I divorced. It couldn’t have been used by my then future ex….
Bravo girl!

WP is going heavily on my nerves AGAIN. Have to sign in for every single blog post I read. And every reply I want to give …..
You are hilarious and wonderful. My 1st thought when I saw you lifting that heavy, heavy pot: Why doesn’t she take the veggie stuff out before…. and already you said the same thing.
And I totally agree to your measurement system. This is what gives friends a headache when I like something from my kitchen and wonder if I could give them the recipe…. There is none – never. Although I admit having some 40 beautiful (and that’s the important bit!!!) cookery books. Just for the pictures and the glorious presentation, but following them to the T, naaaaah. You are so gifted!
