So. One of my favourite bloggers, David Kanigan, at “Live and Learn” challenged some of us to take the Proust questionnaire. Of course, I put up my hand. While some of these answers would probably change if I had taken more time, the object is to shoot off the first thing that comes to mind. So I followed protocol and didn’t modify a thing, despite David’s offer to do so. I am honest, if nothing else ๐
- ย What is your current state of mind?ย Fuzzy (but Iโm sick soโฆ)
- What is your favorite journey?ย The one I am taking right now. Being my own woman.
- What is your idea of perfect happiness?ย Being good with who I am
- What is your greatest fear?ย Being insignificant
- What is your most marked characteristic?ย My smile
- What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?ย My sloppiness
- What is the trait you most deplore in others?ย Insincerity
- What is your greatest extravagance?ย Getting my hair done
- What do you consider the most overrated virtue?ย righteousness
- On what occasion do you lie?ย Iย To protect the person I am lying to (white lie)
- Dislike most about your appearance?ย My hands
- Which living person do you most despise?ย Despise is such a strong wordโฆ
- Which words or phrases do you most overuse?

Very interesting and revealing of ones self. I think I would struggle with the answers on this one.

Ya gotta just spit out the first thing that comes to mind – try not to think at all!

I don’t have to TRY to not think at all. Many think I don’t on a regular basis. Lol. Me included.

Q,
I bow to you, because I could never do one of these questionnaires, LOL.
And I love your ‘last response’ even more with “Right?” because that really is so you!
As are all these answers to the questions. Very telling and fitting.

…to continue from my comment at Dave’s blog, I also feel a bit of a prier! Probably my own introversion speaking, hence other than adorably clever and brilliant, to my eyes you are brave too! ๐ Bless you! [ps Oh, we do have quite a few in common! ๐ ] xoxoxo

Amazing answers, showing you’re an okay person. And, as you might guess, I’m kidding of the insincerity. But you said you like to laugh so… written with sincere intent ๐

I encountered this place. Or a replica of it. Back in (oops) last century, 1999. We stayed at Wells sub Mendips, central for walking all the good places. But… gosh, the looks I got for wearing a mini. Everyone… everyone… wore those Stepford clothes. Social like revolved around the cathedral. Admittedly, Wells is the smallest city in UK (to be an English city, it must have a cathedral) and Wells cathedral is beautiful. But you can stand in the High Street and hear the cows doing their business. Oh, but a short bus ride away is Glastonbury, with Glastonbury Tor, and in another direction, Cheddar Gorge, with its cave, and on the outskirts, another famous cave at Wokey. But Wells itself? Stepford.

Wow! Good for you for standing out! In a mini, no less… lookit you, Miss Thing! ๐
Man, I love how you describe these places. Makes me want to go all the more.

Well, let’s remember that was 20 years back. Doubtless there have been changes. But I can’t imagine Glastonbury changing. Maybe not so many hippy-types. But Buddhist monks rubbing shoulders with Catholic nuns, and back-to-nature types jostling with… oh, Justin, now there was a character. Claimed he’d built Glastonbury Tor by piling dinosaur skeletons one upon another. Hmm. Yea.

I a frankly obsessed with all things Italian, in particular Tuscany. Can’t say why except my going there in 2016 did not make my desire dim whatsoever. ๐
Thanks. Took me a long time to like myself… ๐

This is great, but there are no words you over use?
Vanity Fair used to do something like this at the end of their magazine, a little modified. What did you think?

“Right?” is my over used word…
What did I think? I never really read Vanity Fair… As for your piece, I am still reading it and it is fabulous…

Right? HA!
Vanity Fair, I used to be an avid reader, but then turend to cookbooks and magazines and working a gazillion hours. Now, I only read an VF article occasionally.

I have only read articles here and there, to be honest… now? I read friggen blogs, thinking I’ll have time for a real book… which I manage for 15 minutes per night. Takes me two months to read what should take me three days…
