A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend. How you use the prompt is up to you. Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in the comments.
Word Prompt
Complex
Challenge
Yes, Dale, do try your very first Puente with a limited word count. Why try when there are no restrictions? That would be too easy. I tried, I chucked, I put into the trash… and then this morning, the words came so I went garbage picking and took it out, spit and polished and well, this is it. Thanks, Sammi, for making me work so hard!
He and She
Complex in his moods and beliefs
he accepts who he is (hard-won)
and will not compromise
~it is a notable endeavour~
to take a risk, get closer
by exposing herself, she opened the door for him
they found a love unexpected
Well done Dale, this is sweet and powerful at the same time!

Dear Dale,
Relationships can seem simple yet be complex. You’ve captured the sentiment. Good job.
Shalom and lotsa simple hugs,

A puente with a limited word count? You really do like a challenge, don’t you? 😉 Beautifully done. I agree with Andrea–sweet and powerful both.

I guess I do. Or maybe it’s when these challenges are issued, my brain goes into – hey, now’s the time to try something new! Or maybe, I’m just nuts.
That you say it is beautifully done is high praise indeed. Thank you so much! 🙂
Ironically, I am reading your MMM, as we “speak”…

Q,
Forty one ways to say I love you. Forty one postcards from the edge of your heart to the tip of your soul and back again. Forty one precious little moments all wrapped into a timeless sculpture whose heart lay in fields whose echos never cease. Forty one answers to the questions, all of em.
You do so make these look easy, and I know the work you put into making it appear so. And as for the subject matter, groovy with a capital peace sign. With kisses on top.
This goes top five in my book of favorites. 🙂
Peace, love and Woodstock.

B,
Wow… if I could poem as well as you prose, this would have been outstanding. That was a beautiful comment.
This particular one did not come easy at all. But it was straight from the heart. Groovy is what it’s all about.
Woot!
Peace, love and Woodstock,

You DID poem that way, Q. Better than that way and better than my comment.
It was heart and soul and groovy and peaceful and beautiful. Its forty one words were that brilliant little package full of mighty things.
Just beauty. So much so.

And I cannot express how much my heart warms at this.
Beauty is not a bad thing at all.
