Crispina‘s challenge is always a fun one for me to attempt. I like to find a photo to match or go with and I can’t believe I did find one – kinda/sorta π
Old vs New
You’re so old-fashioned and much outdated
You really ought to modernize
Each candle must be manipulated
Your light so dim, they strain their eyes
Look at me, you can see how far I’ve come
Their lives have become so easy
With a mere flick of the switch, I turn on
And it matters not if it’s breezy!
Q,
Not only did you accept the challenge, you nailed challenge. Agin. π
And not only did you accept and nail this particular challenge, but you did what we talk about with poetry all the time. You mixed and stirred and edited out and edited in and got to where it was the kind of rhyming poetry that isn’t kitschy. That ain’t a small feat, by any stretch.
The only rhyming poetry I could do would be Jack and Jill. And that ain’t even mine so there’s that! π
You did it. Again. And agin!
Both.

B,
You are always so generous.
You know I keep pushing myself with this poetry gig (I still don’t know why) and I am beyond pleased it did not come off as too kitschy. I wanted it to be fun.
So thank you. Again. And again!

Generosity happens when the participant digs what he’s reading up, yanno?
I think it’s cool that you push yourself with this, because there is a reason. And it has everything to do with you being a writer who is drawn to it. That’s powerful stuff, eh? π
And agin!

I like that you dig.
It would appear I feel the need to improve or work on my craft. And yeah, pretty powerful!
And then some !

I dig mucho. Which means much with an “Oooooo”, π
Always looking to improve with the idea that you will never be exactly what you want to be because you will always want to be better than that. Pushing yourself that way, it’s a very good thing.
Muy powerful.
Mmm Hmm!

Oooooo is always good whether it’s on its own or tagged on to something else! π
As you so very well know and I feel have taught me by doing what you do. Any time one arrives to be better is a good thing. In all aspects.
Rather cool to have powerful associated in whatever way.
Mmm hmm!

Yes, and jes it is. Hahaha!
It’s like that favorite t-shirt saying of mine by that kid on the Ravens goes “Nobody cares. Work Harder”. That says it all, doesn’t it?
Muy cool even.
Uh huh!

You have mentioned that t-shirt before and I think it is more than Γ propos for anyone who chooses to always better him or herself. It does say it all.
Yes. Muy cool!
Yeah!

beautiful photo and clever verse. I am guilty of preferring ease over beauty when it comes to life’s ‘essential’ utilities although I do plan at least a summers stay in a dry cabin, which up here means no indoor privvy and no running water.. I’m sure my escapade will be fodder for my writing when I do.

Thank you, Violet. I must admit the rustic charm can only go so far or for so long…
We used to go camping – from tent, to pop-up to trailer – you couldn’t get me to go back to a tent – I guess I’m limited to how far I’m willing to go without!

I do, too, and I do that, still. Written cards and letters are still delightful. Just not quite as instantly conveyed … So there’s time and space for progress (no need for quills, though – had plucked some of our turkeys to make one or two in my lifetime. Tis no fun and it very drippy and slightly smelly besides. Give me ball-pens and markers any day … π

LOL. Yeah, you just don’t want to run after the turkey, slip in the mud, wrestle the thing down, get pecked, get gobbled on, and end up with a smelly thing from near the back-end of the bird … π
