Weekend Writing Prompt #183 – Wrangle

A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend. How you use the prompt is up to you. Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in the comments.

Another trip down memory lane.  It took me almost a year-and-a-half to have my family over so I could share with them what I had learned with Cook in Tuscany in September 2016 – the full account of the soirée can be found here but these 33 words somehow triggered, though have nothing to do with at all!  Funny how the muse works.

Wrangled up the necessary ingredients

To make a Tuscan feast to be shared

Invitations sent and accepted

A fun time, expected

With great company, delicious food, divine wine

And some friendly wrangling, unavoidable

I’ll call this one “The Wrangler of Dalectable Delights Done Dynamically”.

Is that too much? Not enough? Is that perfect? Hmmmm? Huhhhh? Hmmmm?

Well, regardless, this was a well tossed selection of your thirty three words worth of a meal. The right ingredients, the innate sense of how much here and just right there with a pinch of that flair, that flair I was talking about earlier in regards to the deep dish pizza. And now it hits me why I thought about it that way. Because you’ll probably add a Tuscan flair to your deep dish pie, that’s why!

    Wrangle up that Mangia!

  3. mmmmmmh – I love everything Italian (except their politics) – and know that we, the Swiss, have early on adopted Italian’s cuisine of the poor – with ingredients coming from nearby, we had ‘Virgin’ olive oil, green and thick directly from the family’s estate in Southern Italy – I was treated to the gift of a large bottle of it for looking after this neighbours’ plants and flowers during their Agosto absence…. etc. Only their bread I can do without – I have a biscotto instead… or three!

  4. YUMMO!
    Yummo memories…yummo now!
Whew! Just so thankful my dinner is almost ready, or I’d be in the fridge playing Godzilla Guts!

PS., dear ⚡️💥 I can’t see the word wrangle in any form or declension w/o thinking about Wrangler Jeans. Got my first jeans & jeans jacket set in powder blue when I was 12. Egads I was cool.
