While Crispina’s bird is a lot bolder in colours, I think mine would make a nice fit… what say you? Always fun to try and find something to go with her fabulous photos! I sense romance might be in the air…
The sound of a wolf whistle assailed her ears.
“Hey, good looking! How’s about you leave that snow and join me up on my perch?”
“Are you talking to me?Β Did your folks not teach you some manners?”
“Come on, pretty lady, come over and say hello, why don’t you? I promise I’ll be the perfect gentleman.”
“Why don’t you get off your perch and come and join me?”
“In the snow? Brrr!”
“You British are a wimpy lot, aren’t you?”
“And you Canadians are a feisty bunch, I say!Β I like it!”
“Not afraid I’ll be too much for you?”
“Come on up and show me what you’re made of…”
“You really are such a charmer…”
“So, you coming?”
“Move over, big guy.Β Let’s see what you’ve got.”
That’s brilliant, Dale. Love the dialogue, the way you’ve made it a Brit & a Canadian. And the photo. Knew you’d come up with something.
Now next week.. a lot easier. But I’m saying no more π π π

So glad you think so, Crispina. When I found my bird in shades slightly less extravagant than yours, I thought I was going to go a whole other way… Then the birds spoke and I was done for π
Looking forward to it!

No doubt they are. They caused a LOT of trouble with my dad’s best friend. He ended up needing surgery for pigeon fancier’s lung thanks to the dust caused by their droppings… So be careful.

Yeah. I know. I’ve been careful and changing ‘the diaper’ over the AC every so often (and very often in the summer, when the AC is on), and overall trying to discourage them (with little ongoing success) from being TOO friendly with my window.

Awful thing. And good.
But they are pesky, to be sure. Don’t know which is worse, your pigeons or my friend’s crows that have decided she is not welcome on her own balcony…

Dear Dale,
Now I’ve got Hank Williams twanging “Hey Good Lookin’, what ya got cookin'” in my ears. Love the dialogue and the little battle of two cultures separated by a common language. Good show.

I loved those times there. The Candian girls seemed so much more honest than the American girls. They also had great senses of humor.

Tasting notes on the Extra Stout. Smooth with a snap of hops. Nice finish but would have liked a little more depth. Foreign Stout has just a tiny bit more body although I was pleased with the Extra Stout too. Would have liked the additional 2% ABV though. The SOBs also only give you 11.5 oz.

I can’t get the song out of my head now! I mean, I dig the song just fine, but I don’t want it on a loop, yanno? It has that sweet talking boot stepping quality about it but for one time around, at the most two. After which I need to chase it with something else.
And the Brits and Canadians do make for a brilliant match, in my humble opinion. They’re both nice, they overuse the “U” and the Canadian can show the Brit what good cuisine is all about while the Brit can introduce the Canadian to a tasty roster of brews. π
Love your bird song.

B,
I apologise profusely for the earworm. I’m sure you’ve chased it with something much more worthy. I, for one, didn’t have it go more than one way ’round the track.
Now that you mention it, they would make a brilliant match. Now I’ve a hankering for good food with a good brew.
So glad you do.

I did. I had some Natalie Merchant on speed dial after using one of her songs, so she was able to steer me in a totally different direction while keeping the theme.
Muy serioso on that match. I mean, what’s NOT to love. You got your food on one side of the equation, and you’ve got your brews on the other. Match? Game!

Yes, the top one is gorgeous, but yours is very pretty. I don’t often see such exotic pigeons. We have a common rabble around here. Although, I did see a pure white pigeon, an albino pigeon one day. I wondered what a chicken was doing hanging around with pigeons. Then I thought, it’s a dove, then…no, it’s a pigeon!!!
I took pics, but they kept moving around, pecking, eating gravel. Yummo! π

I wonder if mine is the same family as Crispina’s. Male vs female, maybe? I capture her in Montreal. Wow a white one! That must have been rather spectacular.
