Time for Friday Fictioneers! A thanks always goes to Rochelle for hosting this weekly party. This week’s photo is by Roger Bultot. Click on the frog below to join in on the fun!
“Not fair! He’s younger than me but I can’t go on!”
“I will, too. Not my fault you’re short and I’m not!”
“Shut up, Aidan!”
Comes off ride, crying…
“You big baby.”
…two years later…
“I’m not going on any ride that goes upside down!”
“You’re such a chicken.”
“Hope you’re tall enough!”
“Shut up!”
“Boys! Enough! Ready to go on the Rockin’ Roller Coaster? It’ll be so cool. The whole ride is in the dark!”
“Does it go upside down, Dad?”
“Nah. Don’t worry about it.”
Iain snickers…
“That was the coolest ride, ever!”
“Even though it went upside-down?”
Ha – I can hear the screams from here! Will he ever believe his Dad again? Brilliant, Dale.

It was hilarious and he is now a super fan of going upside-down on roller coasters ๐

Dear Dale,
Ah brothers. Sounds like Dad wasn’t quite truthful. I could see and hear this one. Love it!
Shalom an lotsa right-side-up hugs,

Dear Rochelle,
None of us were honest and when the guy behind us said ‘yeah yeah, it goes upside’ down we wanted to smack him. However, we convinced him that in the dark would be no big whup… lol…
Shalom and lotsa topsy-turvy love,
Dale

This makes me laugh.
Great Yarmouth has a Pleasure Beach with all the usual fairground rides. I remember one visit long before we moved here. The ride comprised a circle of ‘cars’ that spun around an arc and in doing so the cars would be upside down. The youngest sat in the car with me. She must have been 4 or 5 yrs old.
So the car goes upside down. She squealed in delight. “Mum, the ground’s where the sky should be.” She has remained a lover of white-knuckle rides ever since!

Good! It was supposed to!
My eldest is a huge fan (as was his father and still, am I). The younger just needed a new nudge to join in our joy.

Dan (and Mom ๐ ) He ended up becoming a huge fan. I felt that not seeing he was upside down would help. And it did. And he is STILL a fan!
Thank you, Sandra.

So weird. I know I responded to this because I fixed the picture after you told me! Glad I come back to check. Yes the younger learned to love it.and I’m glad you liked this!

I’ve done that. Then again, some will probably focus on the man sitting alone and completely diss the roller coaster. That’s what’s fun about FF!

I don’t do rides–especially not roller coasters or anything that goes upside down! ๐

I used to love rollercoasters. It’s been over 20 years since I’ve been on one. I don’t have much desire to ride on these days. That Strat in the photo is cool and bigger than my friend Jimmy’s 16-foot long exact replica of a Strat he built and has in his shop. You can see Jimmy’s Strat at https://wp.me/p1yQyy-462.

I read this in horror as I imagined ANYONE tricking me onto a rollercoaster that then went upside down … Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. My body cannot handle it. Nope!
๐
Funny skit, my friend, and the bickering sounded very very realistic … so I’m thinking… yeah … that happened …
And for the record, if we EVER go to an amusement park together. You go on the rides. I hold the purses and take the photos from the stable ground below. The end … ๐

Oh you poor dear… It was mean of us but yanno… in the dark, you don’t SEE what’s coming up.
Glad you enjoyed my possibly real to-and-fro between my kids.
And I would NEVER cajole/force you to go on any rides…

Yeah, whew … no me no go … no loopdy-loop things for me. I can do the big-wheel, no problem. Height ain’t the issue. But the spin-cycle upside-down milk-shake things are outta the question for my system. It’s working hard enough to manage gravity without tossing it into the blender … ๐
I hold the purses and take the photos … ๐
