Weekend Writing Prompt #188 – Languid

A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend.  How you use the prompt is up to you.  Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like.  Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise.  If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in the comments.  Thank you, Sammi.

Sunday Kind of Love

This is it, she thought

as she stretched languidly

turning towards her lover

spooning him

feeling his warmth along her length.

A Sunday kind of love.

She breathed in his scent as

she slid her hand down his arm,

entwining their fingers.

He pulled their hands up to his beating heart

showing her it was his, too.

    • I was brought back to this post because of spam and went down the comments only to see I had inadvertently dissed you, Tara! So terribly sorry.
You know, it really depends. Sometimes it comes out in one fell swoop with an adjustment here or there, sometimes it takes me forever!

  1. Love the audio of Etta James. Your piece is very sensual and reminds me of many Sunday afternoons. Nuff said. Lol. Great use of 57 words. I gotta love all you wordsmiths that are able to put so much feeling in so few words.

  2. Exquisite feelings, the best 2 lovers can share!
You have made a picture every bit as soft as Early Morning Spooning
by Charles M. Williams & as music as rich as Etta James can sing!
    Thank you, Thunder!
