What a Deal! – Friday Fictioneers

It’s Wednesday!  And looky here! It’s my photo and yet another that was used in a Crispina prompt!  That Rochelle does like to challenge me, doesn’t she? Making me have to come up with something new.  I tell ya. Click on the frog below to add your link, should you be so inspire!

What a Deal!

I know we’ve visited quite a few properties but there is one more I want to see. Check the listing:  ‘Lake front property, beautiful views, three bedrooms, two baths’.  It’s a steal at two hundred and fifty K.

Steal or robbery?  At that price I’m thinking it’s a shack, ready for demolition!

Maybe it’s a succession thing and they just want to get rid of it!  Who knows until we go see, right?

I guess it can’t hurt to go visit. Just don’t get your hopes up.

Welp. Definitely not a succession thing.

They should rephrase that to In-Lake property.

  2. When we first looked for a house on Cape Cod, there were a couple that had indoor swimming pools… well, at least you opened the cellar door and the entire downstairs was filled with water, so I am assuming indoor swimming pool 😉

When they wrote Lake Front . . they meant it as a rap synonym. As in “The lake be fronting,”. It was really a matter of reading between the lines, and then tearing the lines down, moving the lines about a hundred feet back and starting the hell over.

I guess the devil really IS in the details huh? And he owns a pair of swimming trunks at that. Like I mean . . who knew?

  4. Small wonder, they want to dispose it…
As long as there are no surprises buried in the lake, and if they can take care of building a higher wall near the lake, it’s a steal! 🙂

  5. For having a pool of this size it really is a steal, no? And about these chairs: aren’t they rather common blue plastic chairs? How can that woman identify them as hers?

  6. Dear Dale,

At least it came with a built-in wet bar. Or a swimming hole/living room combo. I remember house hunting many years ago. Some “interesting” properties. 😉 Love your story and your photo. 😀 Thanks for the loan.

    Shalom and lotsa dry hugs,

  7. Realty ads can be deceiving. What a disappointment it is when looking for the perfect home. Homes and cars are nightmares to buy. This one fits right in with those. It should have read ‘House built for those who enjoy looking at the water at their feet’ … LOL
I like where you went with this one, Dale.

  8. Ah! That’s what they call a “Renovator’s delight”
    I read a translator somewhere –
A breezy open plan lounge and dining area features a pitched ceiling with skylights to maximise natural light. Glass bi-folds hark to the gentle beckon of a generous, paved, Romanesque court garden.

Translated: The living room has enough space for a dining table. There are windows in the ceiling. There is a balcony with some plants outside.
