A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend. How you use the prompt is up to you. Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in the comments. Short and sweet! Just like I like ’em. Thank you for hosting, Sammi.
Air stills
eerie silence descends
Mother Nature, as conductor
raises her baton
holds
With a flick of her wrist
thunder cracks
symphony has begun
An eerie symphony can still be quite enchanting

This is fantastic! I could FEEL the held breath of nature, waiting for the crack of thunder’s baton! Lovely!

Awww shucks! Thank you, my friend. I started and restarted this darn thing FOUR times! Finally went back to my original! LOL

Yep, isn’t it fun when the first ‘flow’ ends up being the one intended all along? 🙂

It is! I had written down a couple different things and then had to cull from my memory along with the first one written… eesh. How hard does one have to work for 24 words? 😀

I know!!!!! Sometimes the short ones take LONGER than the long ones … 😉

I swear!! Sometimes I get it in one fell swoop. Other times? Not so much…

I hear ya! I have to say that most times for me it is a one fell swoop fairly quick sort of thing, but I totally understand how some things can go nowhere … until they do. …
FWIW, your stuff’s great. So … 🙂

Had no chance to view video, did so now on my phone. Strange….
Vivaldu was a WILD GUY and I never get over what he is asking from his musicians 🎻
When I played the violin I never got near those tempestuous compositions 1🤪🤣

Perfect, Dale! I was right there with you. Those moments just before the storm can be eerie. And I love Vivaldi!

Thank you, Merril! I waited for that storm all day. We never got it! Vivaldi’s Four Seasons will always hold a special place for me.

Well, I guess it’s good that you never got a big storm. Yes, the Four Seasons is wonderful!

I have to kick myself in the patootie to go out there now! There is a good wind and the temps are lower and I’m still 9K short of goal!!
Four Seasons are timeless!

Mother Nature leading the orchestra, such a lovely metaphor, Dale. She’s a pretty good painter too. We’re having cold weather and hailstorms in the UK and some of the cloud formations are so stunning you want to get hold of them.

Glad you liked, Jilly. She is so very talented. Yes, the clouds and sunsets have been spectacular!

You’ve created a miniature something wicked this way comes vibe with this challlaange. It’s almost as if the sky was sitting for you, modeling itself and then you painted the words as the artist. At least, that’s how it feels. And yes, the maestra to her symphony works perfectly.
Brava!
