A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend. How you use the prompt is up to you. Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in the comments. Thank you for continuing this challenge, Sammi!
They do not come
in pen and ink
but your words have left
an indelible mark
Forever now,
part of my heart
This is fantastic.
Love what you did here.
And … interestingly, the connection of ink and heart repeats …
xx

Short, sweet and powerful!
A wonderful take, very personal, yet held close to the breast.
As soon as saw INK… I thought tattoos!!!!
I wasn’t far off. You have a tattoo on your heart. ⚡️💥

Oooh! Thank you, Sorceress!
Yes, very close to the breast.
And, since I’ve no ink, I didn’t go there 😉 🧚🏻♀️🌟

Lol!
I always wondered what a tattoo would look like…. say if you got it when you were young with firm skin, and now you are old and wrinkly. Would a vicious snake turn into a pruned worm?
Think I won’t do a paper on that one! xo

Hahaha! I wish I could find the little video or meme where a woman with a tramp stamp that says something like “beautiful something” morphs into “ugly something” as she gets older and wrinkles…
I can’t find a reason to get a tattoo 😉
LikeLiked by 1 person
Me either. Anyway, at my age a tramp stamp would just look like insufficient postage! 😅📮

I miss mine from my old house. There are so many ideas going through my head for eventually replanting here. As it stands I have straggly bits of things I don’t want to keep!

I thought 11 instead of 22…. and Letters, not words…. your ‘in your heart inked words’ must have caused my brain confusion, such an impact they had…

So you ended up with two for the price of one.

Yes, you should do that. I wish I could grow them here. They would provide you with a lot of joy.

I probably will. There are a few plants I had that I would love to have again.

Dear Dale,
Ink fades and paper yellows and crumbles. The words written on the heart last forever. Well done.

At first I thought maybe you were going to write about a tat, but in twenty-two words, I wondered how it would be possible. But this is way more beautiful and I love how you used “ink” as the theme of the piece. How lovely.

B,
As one with a tatless body, I felt ill-equipped to write about that. I had to go with my heart. And I love that you thought this was lovely.

Tatless body agrees! I’ve come close, but it would have to be just right, otherwise nope.
It was muy lovely, lovely. 😉

I’ve considered it. And, obviously, reconsidered!
You are my lovely. 😘

I tossed with the yin/yang but thought it was much too predictable. Problem is, the less predictable stuff isn’t attractive to me either.
You so sweet.
MUAH!

Predictable schmedictable. If it means something to you, then you do it – whatever it is. I suspect you have the same ideas as I do regarding tats.
You are.

What a lovely and meaningful poem.
About tatoos… I always thought I’d get a tiny one if or when I ever make it back to Canada… and most people still get them as a statement, that wouldn’t matter if you’re old or young.

I might have considered it after Austin died but nah. It’s just not my thing.

It’s certainly healthier not to do it. And you have that inscription on your heart anyway.

That’s the thing. I’m not really into tats, anyway!

Dale,
We remember words, loving or hurtful, long after we forget the faces — they do leave an indelible mark.

I know. And it’s been frustrating. I have three different ones on the go and none of them do I like so I put them aside. They’ll either get done or get trashed. I’m not feeling the urge to write lately. More to read.
