Pay No Heed – Crimson’s Creative Challenge #141

When I saw this week’s CCC prompt, I was fairly certain where I would go with it. Then I did. And went over the word count. Forgiven, Crispina? Hopefully this garnered a chuckle which saved me a good chastising.ย  Hope you enjoy my little silly today ๐Ÿ™‚

First, we set up a guard, trying to keep the hooligans out.ย  Maybe we should have made the sign bilingual?ย  No matter what language it was in, they ignored it.ย  And the guard.ย  Not that he put up anything near close a fight, actually.ย  Truth told, he went and hid under the stairs, quivering as they walked on his head, so to speak.

Once past the gate, the hooligans were meant to be discouraged them from crossing the stream on their way to our pond.ย  This time it was in English. Did that deter them? Not on your life. They feared no prosecution.ย  Even laughed from below and wallked all along until they reached their destination.

A sign indicating the water was dangerously deep did not give them pause.ย  Rather the opposite โ€“ just like we knew it would. He he he. The over-hanging branch was further invitation.ย  First one dove and landed, head in the super soft muck, legs sticking out from the waist down. Or was it up?ย  We sat back and laughed, watching them help their buddy up and running off our property.ย  We knew this group was taken care of.ย  Why none of ’em ever tests to see just how deep it is, is beyond me. Serves ’em right, little bastards.

  1. He’s was lucky it was muck. A hard bottom would have done him in. You would think people would know better. That was a sorry excuse for a guard.

    • He was very lucky. Of course, I didn’t specify the muck was really soft…
You would think. But they are not.
And tell me about it… looked all fierce till they got close ๐Ÿ˜‰

You have created a monster, and a hilarious one with this challenge slam. It’s as if Looney Tunes met up with Winston Churchill in a liquor store parking lot and they divvied up the responsibilities and the strategies . . . and then they toasted it with several round of “Eat, Drink and be Mary . .” before waging battle.

How you got to here, no idea, but it’s fantastic. And uh . . I’m not scared a you in the . . least. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that you felt the Looney Tunes bit… of course only YOU would mix it with Churchill… which makes this all the more hilarious.

I cannot explain the workings of my mind at times. It manages to go into direction unexpected, depending on the photos I find to go with…

      No? Not even a li’l bit? ๐Ÿ˜‰ (Though I’m glad you enjoyed…)

      • It’s true . . . that speech he made at the Commons . .

We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender,

And follow it up with the Looney Tunes song . . . ๐Ÿ˜‰

You might be a tad bit touched. Take it from someone who is . . a tad bit touched.

        I laughed my ace off.

  4. I can imagine him/her sliding into the muck, like warm peanut butter, and saying to themselves โ€œEwwwe. What did I do and how do I clean myself from this muck. Never, ever again.โ€ Good story, and a funny visual.
