As I mentioned in the last WWP post, I am posting this weekend’s prompt a day early 🙂 And for those who celebrate it, Merry Christmas! 🙂 And to you, Sammi! Thank you for this day early idea 🙂
A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend. How you use the prompt is up to you. Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in the comments.
A little pre-Christmas pause, even though ours was cancelled… Thank you, whatever version of Covid that attacked my sister’s family! Merry Christmas to you all!
Escape from the pre-Christmas crazy
The ever-present din replaced
by lapping waters along the shore
Time to breathe
Stop
Wonderful 19 words. The lapping water sounds so relaxing. Beautiful photo.

Merry Christmas! I’m sorry about your cancelled plans. I hope your sister and family are OK.

Symptom-free they are, thankfully! (Not loving the new normal! )

Just as lovely Di. Oh, I am guessing it does more when it’s colder? Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Thanks Dale. It’s the North Sea, so really cold and loud in the winter months or bad weather when the wind picks up.

At such times and circumstances, escape is so healing. We all have those times and places. Please stay safe. 🙂 Well done.

Thank you and yes, these places to escape are necessary. I love that I have the option of the St. Lawrence River or the various woods around my house. 🙂
Staying safe in my bubble! Hope you do as well.

Oh, bummer, hope everyone comes out with little effect. Nasty bug! We’re learning how to accept uncertainty and move in smaller circles. I hope one day we can gratefully gather without worry. ❤️ 🙏🏽

So far they have nothing so I’m thinking they’ll be good. That we are, as well. And, so do I! ❤️

Dear Dale,
No question. There’s nothing more peaceful than the sound of water. Under it, skimming through it or walking beside it. Shear peace. Lovely verse.
Shalom and lotsa lapping hugs,
Rochelle

Dear Rochelle,
I so hear you. Especially in times of way too much busyness. It’s nice to stop and just be with nature for a few minutes before resuming the busy. Glad you enjoyed. Thank you!
Shalom and lotsa flowing love,
Dale

With that last “stop” I stopped for a moment and breathed and felt the peace all around. How quickly we sometimes let the din of our thoughts overcome.

Excellent. I am so glad I gave you a reason to stop and breathe. The din of the thoughts can sometimes be louder than that around us!
