A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend. How you use the prompt is up to you. Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in the comments. Got me all sappy this week, Sammi!
Return to me, my love
Let us create more memories
to hold onto until our next time
Dreams simply cannot
replace the warmth of your touch,
the feel of your lips
Lovely.Photo and the words.

Okay, Dale. That was lovely and sincere. Not sappy.
Sappy means overly sweet or sentimental. This poem is not, but it is romantic, which is what I think you were going for. Home run!
I admit that old Dean could lay on the love songs, but dang! What’s wrong with that?
What is more wonderful than good memories? Romantically good is even mo’ betta’.

Oh you! Thank you!
You’re right. I removed any saccharine… And I’m so very glad you thought it romantic.
Dean… Oh, Dino Martini could sing me the phone book… I love him.
And yeah. I’ll go for mo’ betta!

Ah, Dino… great memories!

Isn’t Dino the best? Highly underrated. Peeps were stuck on Ole Blue Eyes but Dino? Mmmm…

Agreed. In our house, it was Dino all the way. 🙂

Oh my! This would be HARD to do! An exact # of words…I think I’d probably have a hard time describing anything in only 31 words! But EXACTLY 31? Whoa!

It can be rather difficult! A few weeks ago we were given 12 words! 🙂 I do love the challenge, though. 🙂

There was no sap to this. It was simply beautiful and delicious, both. And not for nothing but the blend of nature and love and memories and anticipation and plush words AND the Dean to cherry the top of this swing? It’s how love meets romance.
So perfect. 🙂

Good! As long as it ain’t sticky but is just right, I’m happy. Plus, I figured, if I include the Dean? It’s buttah…
So glad 🙂

Sticky and buttah in the same paragraph had me all chuffed. No, it ain’t sticky but it’s sweet as all get out. And yes, Dean was buttah and so is this piece.
MUAH!

Where Is Love?
Behind every word
There is a thought
Between every thought
There is an emotion
Underneath the emotion
There is a heartbeat
Below the heartbeat
There is a soul
Within the soul
There lives love

Dear Dale,
Not sappy at all. Poignant. Touching. Wistful. Full of longing. But not sappy. Well done. (Like I’d expect 😉 )
Shalom and lotsa returnable hugs,
Rochelle

I feel the longing. The losing. The wanting. I believe the return is possible in our dreams, waking and sleeping. That’s my sap for the day (and I LOVE sap). i also love your poem. xo

Oh what a wonderful thing to read! And sap is not too bad – it’s not like it was overly sweet, right? 😉 Thank you, Pam. 💞
