Weekend Writing Prompt #267 – Return

A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend.  How you use the prompt is up to you.  Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like.  Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise.  If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in the comments.  Got me all sappy this week, Sammi!

Return to me, my love

Let us create more memories

to hold onto until our next time

Dreams simply cannot

replace the warmth of your touch,

the feel of your lips

  1. Okay, Dale. That was lovely and sincere. Not sappy.

Sappy means overly sweet or sentimental. This poem is not, but it is romantic, which is what I think you were going for. Home run!

I admit that old Dean could lay on the love songs, but dang! What’s wrong with that?

What is more wonderful than good memories? Romantically good is even mo’ betta’.

    • Oh you! Thank you!

You’re right. I removed any saccharine… And I’m so very glad you thought it romantic.

Dean… Oh, Dino Martini could sing me the phone book… I love him.

And yeah. I’ll go for mo’ betta!

  2. Q

There was no sap to this. It was simply beautiful and delicious, both. And not for nothing but the blend of nature and love and memories and anticipation and plush words AND the Dean to cherry the top of this swing? It’s how love meets romance.

    So perfect. 🙂

How did I miss responding to this lovely comment? I much prefer your qualifiers to sappy 😉 And I thank you for your kind words.

      Shalom and lotsa love,
