A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend. How you use the prompt is up to you. Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in the comments.
Hard to resist just sixteen words. So I didn’t!
My roof
My rules
You don’t like it?
You know what to do…
So I left
Good one, Dale. 😊

Thank you, Merril. It’s so funny. It was clear what I would write, then it wouldn’t come out, so I left it. Then, just as I was leaving for my walk in a park, it came to me so I sat down and wrote it before I forgot it (again!) Glad you enjoyed.

Bluejay’s are sneaky little devil’s aren’t they?! Over here they enjoy stealing cat food and flying off with it. They know EXACTLY where the bowls are so when they come back… They bring their family with them. By the end of summer they’re nearly too far to fly 😂

Thank you, Monika. Sixteen words is short! I had a few options with birds on roofs but I kinda liked this one as it made me think of a kid leaving the nest, but stocking up on foods 😉 They are so gorgeous. Noisy clotheslines, they sound like and aggressive to other birds, but I still like them.

Not one word too much.
With a twist in the (long) tail….

I remember it was said to me, I’m not sure I said it to my kids. Maybe the oldest? Certainly not the other two

All joking aside, I cannot remember saying it, myself. Or it being said to me – though I have friends who have been told!
