Weekend Writing Prompt #310 – Treetop

A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend.  How you use the prompt is up to you.  Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like.  Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise.  If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in the comments on Sammi’s blog.

I haven’t played in a while so, why not, I say… Why not! (Wishing I was there, rather than here, watching the snow fall. Again.

Now this was real ziplining!  None of that sissy, man-made tiny park, barely higher than twenty feet stuff.

THIS.  Costa Rica was where it was at!

We were in Guanacaste and ready to see the treetops by zipping from tree to tree with our toes tickling the canopy.

It amazed me that the further we went, the higher up it became.

Unforgettable fun.

  1. Wild and crazy and just plain fun. What a wonderful memory for you and memorialized in photos. Ziplining supreme!

Good times like this should never be forgotten. Thank you for sharing such a special time in your life.

    • Absolutely! It was before our digital camera days so, I had to photograph a photo… Better than nothing, right? Zipping supreme it was!

No they never will. And I am such a pain in the ass with the picture that there are memories galore (I’m just not in most of ’em…)

  2. Oh goodness this brings up memories!!! Loved zip-lining in the jungle! (We were in Thailand, also high up in the wilderness, zipping over gibbons and treetops!) – Love the smiles and joy all around. May good memories abound! xoxo

Better anyone but me! LOL. Nah, it doesn’t even LOOK fun, so I give props to anyone who does it. I was invited years ago, to which I replied, I’ll toast to you instead! I rather like the idea of toasting to someone who WANTS to do that. It’s like being a narrator, only with a hell of a lot more flavor than most!

    Salud!

  4. Good one, Dale.
That looks like fun. How come I never see people with gray hair do this? I prefer the easy runs, like in snow skiing. 🙂 Wonderful…and you’re damn right. Why not?

    • Dear Rochelle,

It was so much fun. Yes, the height thing might be an issue for many. When you’re zipping from tree to tree, you focus more on what’s ahead than what’s below 😉 Still. Tell Jan you’ll wait for him at the end of the line 😉

      Shalom and lotsa flying love,

      Dale
